As part of a weeklong residency at Write On, Door County, Ed will be conducting a workshop called "Writing to the News."

Using news headlines and quotes as poetic prompts, poet Ed Werstein will guide participants to creating poetry in response to the news. Many of us have strong reactions to what we read and hear in the news, but ranting or preaching bear few results. Poetry can ease our own frustration and, at the same time, be an effective tool to get others to think about our points without becoming didactic.
